The STRIX U1881 control is specifically designed for 'illumination' and 'two power' applications which use a heating element which is hidden from the consumer. A flying lead provides a direct power take off for a second heating element track or for high power neons which is independent of the integrated steam switch. It also incorporates two-level, two pole protection against boiling dry or accidental dry switch on of the appliance. There is also an incorporated non-cycling and therefore energy saving dry protection system.

The STRIX U1881 also incorporates an integrated timer which provides the added functionality of a long boil.
