The Strix U1886 control is a variant of the U1850 series specifically designed for use in vacuum coffee brewing applications. A flying lead is supplied as part of the control, which supplies a power supply to the second heating element and is independent of the brew cycling control.

Designed for mounting directly onto the underside of conventional concealed heaters it incorporates the upper part of the Strix P72 cordless system allowing 360º rotation. Features two level, two pole, non-cycling dry protection against boiling dry or accidental dry switch on of the appliance. This system is designed to be “trip free”.

Most variants also feature the optional “lift-off-switch-off” (LOSO) mechanism, which automatically trips the trip lever to the off position when the appliance is lifted off the cordless base thereby increasing safety, and saving energy by preventing the appliance from being returned to its base when dry.
