The Strix U1830 15A Control is a variant of the U1830 series specifically designed for low voltage, high amperage applications.
Designed for mounting directly onto the underside of conventional concealed heaters it incorporates the upper part of the Strix P72 cordless system allowing 360º rotation. All variants feature integrated steam detection/switch off, and two level, two pole, non-cycling dry protection against boiling dry or accidental dry switch on of the appliance. This system is designed to be “trip free”.

Most variants also feature the optional “lift-off-switch-off” (LOSO) mechanism, which automatically trips the trip lever to the off position when the appliance is lifted off the cordless base thereby increasing safety, and saving energy by preventing the appliance from being returned to its base when dry.
Two main body types are available to suit different types of appliances.
In order to minimise the number of connections and make them as robust as possible the 15A variant is provided with “EFT” connections which extend from the control and are welded directly onto the terminals of the heater, reducing the risk of wiring overheat which can be a problem in high amperage applications.
