The STRIX P75 is a low profile cordless interface system. The contact housing is designed to sit in the power base. The adaptor is mounted remotely in the appliance.

This interface consists of a male contact housing and female adaptor which are both eliptical in shape. The leading edge of both components are designed to allow them to align prior to electrical connections being made. The adaptor consists of a flame retardant moulding containing three pins. All three pins terminate in the upper surface of the adaptor with male tabs (4.8 x 0.5mm). The adaptor pins pass through shutter slots in the contact housing and connect with silver contacted leaf springs. All three high quality conductors terminate in a male tab (4.8 x 0.5mm) at the base of the contact housing. The contact housing has been specifically designed to prevent ingress of water, however special drainage paths ensure creepage and clearance paths cannot be bridged.

Both the adaptor and contact housing are designed to be held positively between the upper and lower parts of the appliance base and power base respectively. Prior to assembly of either the adaptor or contact housing care must be taken to ensure the connecting leads are not under strain or trapped by any part of the appliance.
