DOMOTECHNICA 2006 - STRIX Deals a blow to counterfeiters - again!

STRIX enjoyed a successful Domotechnica with their stand busy throughout the whole of the 4 days. New products on display included the Aqua Optima fast flow water filter which has already been adopted by leading brands such as Kenwood, Russell Hobbs, Morphy Richards and Binatone in their range of water filter kettles and jugs.

Whilst the size of the fair was much reduced than in previous years, with many European brands conspicuous by their absence, sadly exhibitors prepared to risk patent infringement actions were present as usual, and STRIX were forced to take action against 21 exhibitors, removing 36 products, due to infringements of four STRIX patents registered in Germany.

Kettles fitted with controls manufactured in China by Ketsol, Liang Ji, Jia Tai and Hi Sun were removed from display. STRIX has recently been successful in winning 2 patent actions against Sunlight in China. As this judgement is being appealed by Sunlight no further action was taken against them, but STRIX is fully confident that the appeal court in China will uphold the decision that requires Sunlight to cease manufacture of the infringing products and pay STRIX the damages and legal costs awarded by the court.
