STRIX held a grand opening ceremony for their new factory in Guangzhou, attended by Vice Mayor Lin Yuanhe, Governor of Huangpu District, and Mr Eddie Davies OBE Executive Chairman of STRIX.

STRIX (Guangzhou) Ltd was first established during 1997 in the Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, China. With the collaboration and commitment of all staff, factory output has consistently doubled each year for the last 5 years, and the number of employees grown from 42 to over 400.

To help implement strategic goals, the company decided to move operations to a new 15,000 square metre plant in the Huangpu District. With the assistance and support from the People's Government of Huangpu District and other related departments, this was achieved in only three months, with no adverse effect to business.

Since the establishment of STRIX Ltd in 1981, the Group has made significant gains on it's market share worldwide. The Guangzhou operation is the only overseas production base for STRIX outside the UK and the first foothold for the company in China. China has maintained excellent economic development; from 1998 to 2002, the economic growth rate has reached a tremendous 8%; the soft investment environment has improved steadily for foreign investors.
