STRIX Group led by Sales Director John Brodie, recently
visited the Guangdong Patent Management Bureau (PMB)
to thank them for their efficient handling of an
injunction served on a manufacturer copying STRIX kettle
controls, and to witness the demolition of the offending
tools.
As confirmed by Mr You-Lou Yuan (Director of Legal
department, Guangdong PMB), the People's Republic of China
is determined to protect Intellectual Property Rights within
the country. STRIX Group legal representatives also attended
a similar "tooling destruction ceremony" at the Zhejiang
PMB last week.
Successful action against the Shunden Chen Village counterfeits
manufacturer shows that the Peoples Republic of China is
willing to protect intellectual property rights. The
assistance of an organisation such as the Guangdong PMB
is a great help to STRIX who are determined to continue
their campaign against unscrupulous companies copying
their controls and infringing their patents. These
counterfeit controls do not meet approval standards
making them UNSAFE as well as ILLEGAL.
The STRIX case was used by the Guangdong PMB at the
Patent Expo held in Beijing in April which was visited
by the Peoples Republic of China's president Zhiang
Zermin and was also reported by the China Intellectual
Property News. More information on STRIX Copyists
Campaign can be found on their
website http://www.strix.com.
