The 90s
1992 – Strix was awarded the BS5750 Part 1 (ISO 9001 for quality management)
1993 – Strix moved its head quarters to its current location in Ronaldsway on the Isle of Man
1995 – Strix received its first Queen’s Award for Export Achievement and the Manufacturing Excellence award. It also opened its UK sales office in Chester and produced its 100 millionth control
1996 – The U-series and P72 were launched. The P72 was a revolutionary under-floor heating system with a 360º cordless connector
1997 – Strix expanded its facilities with a new factory in Guangzhou, China as well as further overseas offices in Russia and Belgium
1998 – Strix received its second Queen’s Award for Export Achievement. Brian Amey was appointed Chief Executive
1999 – John Taylor retired and was replaced by Eddie Davies as Executive Chairman. Eddie was awarded an OBE for his services to industry
